Our Story

This page began in early 2022, with a halfhearted attempt to create a sharable piece of content, aimed at reminding fellow jiu-jitsu practitioners to "cut their nails". What started off as a simple joke, has developed into much more.

Grappler With A Sign is a platform built around the goal of spreading positive, motivational and educational messages about the culture and way of life of jiu-jitsu. A place to have productive discussions about some of the more serious topics, while simultaneously being able to laugh at some of the more silly things.
-
-
Somewhere both the seasoned veteran or day one newbie can come to engage and be exposed to the many nuances of jiu-jitsu etiquette and culture .
-
But more than that, we are about People Helping People.
-
Those three words are the corner stone of what this brand is built around.
Since our inception, we have partnered with a number of charities and non-profits. Bringing awareness to projects like The Graceful Warrior Project, that strive to "equip women globally to achieve physical, spiritual, intellectual and economic freedom".
-
-
In February 2023 we produced a limited release Beagle Freedom Rashguard, where 100% of the profits were donated to the Beagle Freedom Project, a non-profit that helps rescue and re-home animals that have suffered a life of cruel animal testing.
-
-
In January 2023 we teamed up with The Guardian Project, helping to bring awareness to an organization that provides scholarships for impoverished children and adolescents to train worldwide, free of cost at their local jiu-jitsu school.
-
-
Later that year, we produced a limited release of rash guards and t-shirts, dedicating a portion of all profits from sales to The Guardian Project.
In 2024 we partnered with The Warrior Dog Foundation to produce another limited edition charity rashguard release, where 100% of the proceeds went to the foundation.
The Warrior Dog Foundation transitions our country’s working K9s from an operational environment into retirement. They provide mental and physical rehabilitation, and rehoming options to Military Working Dogs (MWD), Contract Working Dogs (CWD) and Law Enforcement K9s that otherwise would be euthanized.

In closing, thank you for your participation in this movement.
It would not be possible without you all.

Let's keep pushing.
